Visual Artist Residency at New Chamber Ballet

New Chamber Ballet is a small NYC-based contemporary ballet company with a short-term residency program for photography, film, and visual art students. It provides the opportunity to photograph, film, or sketch rehearsals during the company’s Spring 2026 season, with guidance offered by Miro Magloire, the company’s Artistic Director.

The student’s favorite examples of the work they have produced will be displayed in a gallery showing open to the public in early May.

In creative partnership with Andy Kasana.

“Using hand-processed,16mm and Super-8mm film, our project is an intimately observed portrait of the mythic rehearsal space in a simultaneously evocative and deconstructed light. Through looped fragments of dancers learning choreography, this piece attempts to intertwine studies of movement, time, and repetition to configure a visual narrative. We are very grateful to take part in this oppurtunity, and the creative freedom entrusted in us by Miro Magloire and New Chamber Ballet to develop this project.”

In progress.
